Who Am I?

In addition to an Osseo Mayoral Candidate, I am a lot of things. I am an attorney, an artist, a mother, a wife, an auntie, a daughter, a granddaughter, and most importantly to you all, I am your neighbor as well.

I am originally from Brooklyn Park. I moved to Osseo with my parents in 2004. I have lived here majority of my life since that time outside of moving around for school and career opportunities. My husband and I bought our own house in town in 2023, AKA one of the worst times since the mid-2000s to get a mortgage. We bought our house based off budgeting for just one of our incomes to sustain us should something happen to one of us or if one of us want to become a stay-at-home parent. Suddenly the property taxes here skyrocketed and were compounded with inflation causing us both to need to return to work and send our infant son to daycare before we were ready.

I have worked at the Municipal (city), County, State, and Tribal level throughout my life. As an attorney, I have worked in diverse roles for the State of Minnesota, Hennepin County, and Red Lake Nation. My legal career includes experience in civil legal aid, public defense, child protection, and forensic services. All of that to say, that I am dedicated to public service and I will be dedicated to you.

While my original attendance to speak at a City Council meeting was in winter of 2025 when the city seemingly inexplicably put together the Chief of Police and City Administrator roles, my more recent attendance has been with grave concern with how decisions in the millions are going to fall onto us as taxpayers. Even further concern for those of us already on a shoestring budget and fixed incomes, as many are here in Osseo.

Anyone who gets into Council this November has their work cut out for them. There need to be a lot of stepping back and reevaluating our priorities as a city so we can get a better handle on the budget, what we want versus need here, and what we want the future of Osseo to look like. In sum, please know my focus will be on doing everything I can to not make this a more expensive place to live, that those that live here have the support they need, and that we purposeful in our planning for generations that will be here when we are gone. The future of Osseo depends on all of us and the decisions that we make now.
